New ReLife music trailer gives us that youthful feeling again

0

Youth is wasted on the young

A new music trailer of the live action adaptation of ReLife just came out featuring a cover of the song "Sakura", performed by singer-songwriter Sonoko Inoue with the part rap done by the film's lead actor Taishi Nakagawa. The song, "Sakura", was a song will be the ending song of the film and is a cover of a 2005 song of the same name by the band Ketsumeishi.

Why such an old song? Well, it's because the film ReLife is all about 27 year old Arata Kaizaki, whose last job only lasted 3 months due to a work problem. Now unemployed and without support from a steady job, he gets an offer from a mysterious man to join an experiment that has him take pills that will make him appear to be a 17 year old. Arata agrees to join the experiment and goes back to high school to find the key to happiness within a one year time limit. In 2005, the now 27 year old Arata would be highschool aged at the time thus having a song from that time period is quite perfect.

According to my friend who shall not be named, those who are at the around the same age as the 27 year old protagonist Arata totally enjoyed ReLife because they can relate to someone who would like a bit of a second chance. Who doesn't want a second chance, right? Totally not me since I'm still 19 years old. Really I am.
