New Rurouni Kenshin visual shows off live action Misao

Tao Tsuchiya is up to bat

We finally have our first image of the live action version of Misao Makimachi from the upcoming pair of Rurouni Kenshin films. As with the rest of the cast, young Tao Tsuchiya looks more than appropriate for the fan favorite character.

Tsuchiya turned in a strong performance in 2008's Tokyo Sonata, a film I'm quite fond of, so here's to hoping that she manages to pull off a convincing Misao. If we're being completely honest here, I actually had no idea Misao had been confirmed for the new films in the first place, so this comes as a pleasant surprise to me.

This series of movies is shaping up to have a very strong cast.
