NISA licenses Nyaruko-san as she crawls home with love

Moe Lovecraft lore lands in Lovecraft's home country

NISA deploys its anime licensing tentacles once again and snatches 2010 TV anime adaptation of similarly named light novel, The Crawling Chaos: Nyaruko-san. Now titled Nyaruko-san: Crawling with Love, the NISA title will come out on April 15th with its usual 1-cour limited edition box set.

This time around, Nyaruko-san season one will rest on two Blu-ray discs. She's equipped with clean opening, ending and Japanese trailers. The double-thinkpak-sized artbook contains your usual alien-approved episode and character information, which is always spiffy to behold if you never had the chance to get your head around one of these NISA boxes.

With a proper physical release in the United States, I think Nyaruko finally made it big. The Nyarlathotep is originally a creature of a unique western subculture. In Nyaruko-san, she is still the same alien horror but now completely retooled with an anime sensibility. I wonder if buying NISA's copy counts as reverse-importing, because I think Cthulhu fandom is still largely an American thing; it's those anime fans who are familiar with Lovecraft's lore that can possibly get the most out of Nyaruko-san.
