November Contest: Ouran High School Host Club

One of my favorite series is Ouran High School Host Club. Despite the fact that it's from Shoujo Beat, Bisco Hatori's humor really comes across to all people. The story follows Haruhi Fujioka, a poor student at the ultra-rich Ouran Academy, where children from important families freely spend their time. One day, while looking for a quiet place to study, Haruhi wanders into the 3rd music room looking for a quiet place to study, only to encounter the Host Club. Haruhi ends up breaking an $80,000 vase, and is forced to work for the Host Club to pay back the debt.

So, in honor of the launch of Japanator, I'm offering up the first 7 volumes of the Ouran High School Host Club manga (8 if it comes out before the contest is over). What do you have to do? Well, since we're dealing with high school all over again, this game is going to have to require a bit of algebra.
(Don't ya just love paint?)

So, by the end, you'll end up with a number from 000-999. Exciting, isn't it? Each week, we'll offer up a clue as to what the boxes might represent. It's not going to be as easy as a randomly bolded letter. Rather, you'll have to do some puzzle analysis and whatnot, a la Silent Hill on Hard mode.

The puzzle:
Mysterious and untrustworthy, you have no choice but to go through him. He carries everything, including that which can raise the dead.
Young and innocent, they exchange life for freedom in the old world. Yet, is it truly worth it? Can you ever experience a real life again?
Not accepted by society, they wear their love with pride. A labor of love finally appears, with a mysterious name.
Finally, a dream of national pride comes true after so many years of inferiority. Many it took many tries, with many successes, but only one that was true.

These clues are all from different products, so you have to use your vast knowledge to figure out the clues. Or you could just guess a random number. Head over to the forums and make your guess!
