NYAF 09: Celebrating Del Rey's 5th anniversary with a katana and cake

As part of the pre-party event for New York Anime Fest, Del Rey Manga celebrated its 5th anniversary. Normally, cutting the cake is a simple affair that calls for a simple knife. But when you've got a cake that's the size of five gigantic volumes of manga? Well, there's only one thing you can use: a katana.

Talking with Ali Kokmen at NYAF, he was rather happy about the cake cutting, although he's sure some sword makers over in Japan are crying at how they used the katana. But hey, it was all in the name of delicious cake.

Now we here at Japanator need to come up with something even more epic for our fifth anniversary. Any suggestions? Also, congratulations to Del Rey for making it this far in the manga world. You guys have done an awesome job, and keep up the great work.
