NYCC 2013: Vertical licenses Attack on Titan light novels

The publisher picks up two new licenses.

Vertical has been on a roll recently with their licenses, and at NYCC 2013 they picked up some more interesting titles. Perhaps the biggest news is that they'll be releasing the Attack on Titan: Before the Fall light novel series. The books are a prequel to the manga and anime, written by Suzukaze Ryo and illustrated by Thores Shibammoto. Light novels do not typically do well in the US, but on a big property like Titan, it could be a hit. I hope that people pick this up, if only to encourage more light novels.

The other license announced by Vertical was a manga called In the Clothes Named Fat by Moyoco Anno. It's a one-volume story that follows a woman who overeats and suffers bullying because of this. However, once she is dumped by her boyfriend, she begins to lose weight, but it's not all fun and games.

Interested in any of the stuff Vertical is bring over? I'm really curious about the Attack on Titan light novels!

[thanks Brad/Jeff!]
