Oh hey, a Power Rangers: Samurai game is in the works

Yeah, that's right, "Power Rangers: Samurai", and not Samurai Sentai Shinkenger, which means that Namco Bandai and Saban Brand's new game will be based on the western version of the Super Sentai franchise.

Not to say that the game will automatically be bad, of course. It's far too early to pass judgment when the only thing we know as of yet is that it's planned for "all major consoles and handheld home console videogame platforms."

So, since actual details regarding the game were spare, Destructoid's own Hamza Aziz took pictures of Shinken Pink Pink Ranger playing a Kinect game (see above), which you may enjoy at your leisure. To be honest, the fact that Namco went and brought people there in costume already earned points with me.

In the meantime, check out a sneak peek at the first episode of Power Rangers Samurai, which debuts on Nickelodeon soon. I might just watch a bit of the show to see how they've adapted it from Shinkenger. I remember the good old days of watching photogenic westerners morph mightily and proceed to fight rubber-suited monsters in the same nondescript Japanese rock quarry each week.
