OreImo 2's last episodes to be streamed worldwide

0

From fourteen to sweet sixteen

Oh that greedy imouto! We're already approaching the end of OreImo 2's TV run, but in true "modern anime industry" fashion, there are to be several more episodes intended to round the story out at a sweet sixteen outings. The only problem is those episodes are exclusive to the Blu-ray volumes of the show! Fie! Surely we international fans will be cheated, cheated out of our delicious OVA quasi-incestuousness until such time that an English-language distributor deigns to bring the show over, months from now!

Well, un-fie that stuff, because Japan hears you, and the final three episodes of OreImo 2 are going to be simulcasted. Worldwide. Well, almost worldwide, anyway, as a select group of international countries will be able to enjoy the otherwise Blu-ray-exclusive installments. Indeed, the episodes will be available in China, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Algeria, Tunisia, Monaco, French Canada, and over a large portion of Crunchyroll's coverage. Check out this page for more information on local providers, and Crunchyroll's page regarding their share of the simulcast (which includes a limited-time free-access period for OreImo 2 proper).

That's a goodly number of countries, and the inspiration seems to be due to the show's international fanbase. In fact Producer Shinichiro Kashiwada had an English-translated message for the overseas otaku interested in seeing just what the heck's going to go on in all the extra episodes. Check it out below.

I'm not yet fully caught up with all of the episodes, but the way things are turning out it looks to me like the show will reach its rumored "canon" ending within the allotted broadcast time. What does that mean for the extra episodes? Should fans expect alternative takes on the outcome? I imagine a more than a few otaku miffed by leaks of the ending as shown in the source novels might be hoping for just that....

The worldwide simulcast of the final episodes #14-16 of “Oreimo 2”?the idea of presenting this event came from the “passionate support” of our fans in Japan and also from all the international submissions we have been receiving for the “Oreimo 2 Web Radio Show.” Every staff and cast member who has been involved in this series has put their hearts and souls into these last 3 episodes of “Oreimo 2,” and we have all been hoping to share these final episodes with as many fans as possible.

When we saw so many dedicated fan submissions to the “Oreimo 2 Web Radio Show” from our international fans who watch every week through various streaming services, we knew we had to provide an environment where every fan can watch and experience these final episodes simultaneously. At this time, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the staff who was involved in making this event possible. With everyone’s support, we were successfully able to make this announcement to our fans everywhere. I am truly delighted to be able to bring the finale of this wonderful series, “Oreimo 2” to as many of our fans of the world.
