Pokémon and Zelda special edition Monopoly sets are coming

And they'll take your money before throwing you in jail

I think Monopoly is a great game to play if you want to lose the will to live, your friends or both, but even I think I'll have trouble keeping my hands off the upcoming Pokémon special edition set. Unfortunately, all we know about it is that it'll cost $45 and is probably going to be set in Kanto. However, it's not the only set that's coming out this September, as a Legend of Zelda set will also be releasing at the same time.

While we wait patiently for images and further details, we can take a look at the previously released Nintendo special edition Monopoly set from 2006. All of the properties have been replaced with Nintendo characters, which seems like a bit of a cop out when there are so many worlds and locations you could borrow from Nintendo franchises, but let's be honest, it's the game pieces that really matter. I'd have a tough time picking between the NES controller and the Hylian shield.

So what would you like to see? I think the locations for the Pokémon set will be pretty easy to figure out, but what of the game pieces? Pikachu is a given, but I'd like to see some variation instead of all the starters and legendaries. I want to see a Voltorb piece, just to see what people do to keep it on (or off) the table.
