Japanator interview: ketchup mania at Sakura-Con 2008

0

I know I've said it once or twice before, but the past month has been a busy one for Japanese pop-punk group ketchup mania. They played a long string of shows in America as part of the Japan Nite tour, played to a huge crowd at Sakura-Con and are now planning more shows around the release of their new album F.L.A.G. in a couple months.

I had a chance to talk with the band over the phone soon after their Sakura-Con gig. Turns out that it was possibly their biggest show ever, packing in around 3000 sweaty bodies. In fact they mentioned that America is a very important launching pad for their success in the rest of the world.

They also said that American anime fans are way more crazy than those in Japan, and that their trip to Disney Land turned foul once they had a look behind the scenes. So sad! Oh, and if you're young, female, cute and blonde, I think I know a guy who'd like to "talk" with you.

You can take a listen to the entire interview via the two flavors below. You can also check out a live video clip from Sakura-Con after the jump!

Thanks again to the band for being super awesome, and to the crew at JapanFiles.com for supporting them and making this all possible.
