Japanator Contest: Win tickets to New York Anime Fest!

Are you excited about the New York Anime Fest? No? Well you should be. I mean, Yoshitaka Amano and Hideyuki Kikuchi are going to be there. So will Gia and I! And really, isn't that reason enough to go? How about if I give you a free ticket, will that work? Glad to see I've got your attention now.

We'll be giving away four tickets to the con, and all you need to do to win these is a microphone, and enough GAR or Moe to upstage John Martone. Down below are four lines, two from Gurren Lagann and two from Lucky Star. We'd like you to record yourself saying one of these lines, and send it in to [email protected]. We'll judge the recordings based on who can deliver the lines with the most gusto and energy that you can muster.

For those who want to show just how GAR they can be:

  • Kamina: "Listen up, Simon. Don't believe in yourself. Believe in me! Believe in me, who believes in you!"
  • Akira: "But when it comes to being liked by the maniac-types, well, I have all the pedos..."

And for those who want to show their tender moe to the world:

  • Nia: "Just what on Earth is 'moe'?"
  • Konata: "Timotei! Timotei! Timotei!"

Alright, so Akira doesn't quite fit into GAR, but her sarcasm is definitely something for the not-so-moe Lucky Star fans to try out. Work with me here. Like I said, go email us the clips at [email protected] We'll be judging the contest in two weeks time, so there's still a little time before the convention. But enough talk, have at you!
