Japan doesn't know how the f*ck to get into or out of a relationship

Love is a funny thing. It can manipulate you one way or the other, turning you into a selfless pushover in the hopes of winning over the one you love, or it can turn you into an accidential pervert, with every move you do being interpreted in the wrong way. But for Japan, they take their funkiness with love to a whole new level.

What Japan Thinks has a pair of surveys that I just had to bring to your attention. The first one deals with "love techniques" that these people have used. I've seen all of these in Japanese life and pop culture. And some of them are just weird. Like guys pretending to be drunk? I don't know how that's supposed to endear the girl to you.

A lot of these aren't techniques that I'd recommend, like suddenly stopping talking to your girlfriend, lying to her about your past lovelife, or not smiling. These techniques might end up causing you to hear something from the second list: How to tell your sweetheart that it's over.

"It's not that I've grown to hate you..." is one of the more common lines, although guys win for bluntness with their #2 line: "I'm tired of going out with you." It seems that while they take such indirect routes to getting people to notice them or to make them interested, they're overly blunt when it comes to breaking up. Am I the only one who sees something wrong with that?

Do any of you have a funny relationship story to share with us?
