Pull out your Henshin Devices: Chroma Squad gets a release date

Now featuring flashy bucket helmets

Heroes and heroines; it's time for us to transform into our Ultimate Form-- excuse me while I change into Crocodile Sunshine. Why you say? Because Behold Studios has announced the release date for Chroma Squad, the indie game where you manage your own tokusatsu studio. Instead of doing the usual gameplay trailer, the company decided to tap into their inspiration's roots. In other words, we're treated to a tokusatsu video that sets up for the big news-- well played.

Based on the hero's helmet and the cover art, it seems that Behold's negotiations with Saban might've caused them to change the helmet designs; however, there's a chance that the bucket helmets could be one of the various outfits that's accessible to the players, so we should wait until we play the actual game before we jump to conclusions.

Anyway, Chroma Squad launches into battle on April 30, which isn't too far away. While Behold Studio encountered a few obstacles along the way, I'm still glad that I'll get to mess with the title's suits, special weapons, finishers, monsters, and special effects.  Also, I find it silly that the Red Powerful Ranger from Akibaranger Season 2 is reflected on the hero's visor. If anything, it might be related to a reference that we'll encounter during our playthrough, since it's a good sign that the team's toku shout-outs weren't changed.
