Rejoice? Sword Art Online: Lost Song and Re: Hollow Fragment go west

Double the pleasure with two SAO games

It was only a matter of time until Bandai Namco would announce that Sword Art Online: Lost Song, the latest SAO video game that takes place in Alfheim Online, would cross the pond. Lo and behold, this inevitable announcement happened; however, the folks in the Americas, Europe, the Middle-East, and Australasia are getting not one but two SAO titles, since the next one happens to be Sword Art Online: Re: Hollow Fragment, the enhanced PS4 port of Hollow Fragment.

Perhaps the best news of this outcome is that Re: Hollow Fragment's getting re-localized, which increases the chances of it having a better English translation than the title's original Western release. Hopefully, this is a good sign that Lost Song'll get this treatment as well, since it would make both games' localization consistent.

Based on what I've heard about Lost Song's gameplay, the title plays similar to Macross 30, so expect to the game to be more action-packed than Hollow Fragment. Since it's an alternate take on the original story, I'm curious to see how it changes up the plot. The same goes for Re: Hollow Fragment, since I never got around to playing it on the Vita.

Anyway, Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment hits the PSN this Summer, and Lost Song heads to stores in the Fall for the PS4 and Vita. If you owned the original Hollow Fragment, then you'll be able to transfer most of your items from your old copy to the updated port. As we wait for more updates on the two titles, you can take a look at the screenshots and Japanese trailer for the two games below.

To those of you who're into SAO, are you all looking forward to playing Lost Song and/or Re: Hollow Fragment?
