Rejoice: Tiger & Bunny Japanese BDs get English subtitles

Everyone's favorite Spring 2011 Japanese-animated show about corporate-sponsored CG superheroes is coming to Blu-ray soon, and English-speaking import-hogs can celebrate, because the Japanese Blu-ray versions of the series will be getting full English subtitles, perfect for Japanese people to practice their heavily localized English with, and for foreigners to pay too much money for.

Why too much money? Because Japanese DVDs and Blu-rays of practically anything are too expensive (or foreign versions too cheap, depending on your perspective/vested interest), and Tiger & Bunny is practically guaranteed to get an English release. Not only is it a thoroughly interesting take on American-style superheroes by the Gundam overlords at Sunrise, but it was practically the first show of the season to see an official license.

So yes, wait on it.

On a side note, I'd absolutely love it if they managed to replace the ads on the characters with brands more relevant to the North American market. Like, instead of Softbank on Wild Tiger's chest, how about AT&T or Verizon? Or instead of Ustream on Sky High's uniform, how about Justin.tv? Or at least plaster Blue Rose's legs and arms with a Pepsi variant that actually exists on this side of the Pacific.
