Rejoice: Trails in the Sky the 3rd crosses the pond

Our prayers have been answered

For a second, I wasn't sure if XSEED's tweet about a priest and a nun was important since they might've been in the mood to tell a great joke. Lo and behold, this statement had a higher purpose as the company announced that The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 3rd hits the West in 2017 for PC.

Seeing that the whole series has sold over 350,000 copies in the West, it's great to see that XSEED's hard work is paying off. That being said, the company's executive vice president said a few things about this great news:

“These last five years have been quite an adventure for us,” said Ken Berry, Executive Vice President of XSEED Games. “While we’ve had our share of struggles with the series in regards to its often lengthy and arduous localization, I can say with confidence that what we’ve achieved far outweighs any hardships. We are without question committed to our fans, and are absolutely humbled by their overwhelming support. And in return, we promise to do our best to ensure that these two entries in Nihon Falcom’s beloved Trails series receive the same amount of dedication that previous releases have seen.”

Interestingly, this announcement was made on the month of the PSP version of Trails in the Sky FC's fifth anniversary in North America. According to @Endless History, the English version of 3rd's content is fully intact and it'll include the updates from the PSP release.

Thanks to this event, we'll finally get to see the game's story elements that set the stage for the stuff that happens in the latter titles. In other words, it'll improve our time with Trail of Cold Steel.

While we're on the topic of Cold Steel, the other XSEED-related news is that Trails of Cold Steel II launches this Fall for the PS3 and Vita. To top things off, the game's first set of English screenshots have arrived. In other words, we're in for another year where Hell remains frozen.

Last but not least, in light of Trails in the Sky's FC's fifth anniversary, the game's first installment is on sale at 50% off and the second one is on sale for 30% off for one week. These offers are happening on the PSN and the various PC outlets (such as Steam and GOG) that both titles came out on. If you're interested in checking out the series, this might be a good time to take advantage of this special opportunity.

On that note, is anyone excited about XSEED's recent announcements?
