Releases of the Week: Cheer Fruits unleashes the tokusatsu references

Moe Moe Z-Cune!

As we get ready for another segment, I think it's time for us to grab our nearest transformation device. So why are we making this part flashy? Well, it turns out that Action Heroine Cheer Fruits is out, and it features shout-outs to various tokusatsu shows. Aside from the references, it involves a cast aiming to become local heroes so they can improve their area's popularity.

Even though I missed out on its broadcast, Naruhisa Arakawa (Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger and Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger's Writer) being involved in it made me want to give it a go. Other than his experience with writing Japanese hero shows, he worked on anime programs like Martian Successor Nadesico and Outbreak Company.

Speaking of multiple colors, Splatoon's manga takes us back to seeing the Inklings involved in another turf battle. I remember that Japanator Writer Christian Chiok found it to be decent, so it could continue to be a great companion piece to the game. Since I'm hooked on the second title for the Switch, I may have to read it one of these days.

For the last one that caught my eye, Dragon Goes House-Hunting sounds like one of the best manga premises of the year. Part of it has to do with a fire-breathing reptile searching for a new home since his parents kicked him out. The wonderful thing about it is that he's depicted in a serious style, which opens the door for some hilarious moments.

While only 28 things came out this week, there's still some stuff that can appeal to different people. So far, I noticed this pattern is a recurring thing, regardless of the amount of entertainment that launches anywhere. Are you all looking forward to picking up any of these releases?
