100 Masters, 100 Masterpieces

[update: added purchase links for a few territories, and also note that the posters are available for first edition sales overseas! If you have a Books Kinokuniya in your area regardless of territory, they probably already have these in stock as well.]

Check out my video review of this awesome release by BNN, 100 Masters of Bishoujo Painting Vol. 2 (the first one came out back in 2009), which was just released in Japan on August 9th. It's going to see a wider release in the UK and Europe, USA, Australia, Singapore, Taiwan, Korea, China, and Thailand later on.

This art book uses a new, special ink process in order to really make the illustrations look vibrant and perfect on its pages. There are 100 artists, of which about 30 we called back after the first volume - the rest are completely fresh in the series. It's only ¥2,380, and you don't need to know how to read Japanese in order to enjoy it because a) it's art, and b) all the explanations, names, and other text are printed in both Japanese and English.

As promised in the video, here are links to various artists' websites you could visit to get a preview of the kind of art that made it into this book (some of whom you might recognize): Komeko Amazio, wingheart, Seiji Kikuchi, Shigure, Tony, Santa Tsuji, Range Murata, and Noizi Ito.
