Ryo Katsuji knows best how to recruit a Destiny fireteam

With top-tier cosplay

It's not entirely baseless to say that Japan's gamers haven't been quite as taken with the shooter genre as their comrades in America and Europe, but Glorious Nippon does house a small but dedicated fanbase for the genre. And in it, it seems like Bungie and Activision's quasi-MMO title Destiny is doing alright for itself over there. The game's coming out with its big new expansion, The Taken King, and Sony's recruited actor Ryo Katsuji to pull for it in this new commercial.

What's notable about it is the top-quality Hunter cosplay Katsuji is filling out, which makes more of an impact, if you ask me, than the other live-action cosplay outfits that have been used in other Destiny commercials so far. And then there's the bit with Ryo giving his two buddies - and the laundromat they're in - the hard sell. It's nice, though, and nails how much fun it can be to play Destiny with a couple of people you know better than the too-cool-for-school commercials spearheading Activision's English-language campaign.
