Satoshi Kon's Yume-Miru Kikai resumes production

When Satoshi Kon passed away, he left not only a huge legacy behind him, but a project sitting in front of him as well. That film, Yume-Miru Kikai (The Dream Machine), was thought to simply languish as an unfinished work for the rest of time. Kon kept so much of the film in his head -- all of the minute details, that it was thought impossible to make it a reality.

The folks at Madhouse are doing their damndest to make it happen anyways.

With chief animation director Yoshimi Itazu taking over the helm as "acting director" (Kon will always be the director in their hearts, I presume) and Toshiyuki Inoue taking the role of joint-animation director, Madhouse is pouring their heart into getting this film out there as a final farewell to Kon.

Most touchingly, expect to hear Susumu Hirawasa's music on the project. I can't imagine the grief they're suffering from while continuing to work on this, but we're here to cheer you on. I cannot wait to see this film's release.
