SDCC '15: Dairanger fights its way to North America

It's Fortification Time!

[Update: The gang at Ranger Crew have confirmed that the series hits North America later this year.]

Congratulations, people! Thanks to everyone who supported Shout! Factory's Zyuranger release, the company has announced at Comic Con 2015 that Gosei Sentai Dairanger is heading to North America on DVD.

Of course, I'm happy over the idea that more folks will get to watch the 1993 Sentai show that gave Power Rangers Season 2 the Thunder Zords, Lord Zed's Monsters-of-the-Week, and the White Ranger. Best of all, this release shall prove to others that the Legendary Squadron powers from Power Rangers Super Megaforce aren't new.

If this is your first time hearing about the series, Dairanger focuses on the war between the Gorma and the Dai tribe, two groups that were once part of the same civilization. As the Gorma began to conquer the world in modern times, five individuals with high chi energy were chosen to battle the evil group.

In regards to Dairanger's motif, the show mixes Chinese martial arts with elements from stories like Journey to the West and the lore that inspired Fist of the North Star, which is an amazing combination. On top of that, one of the program's Rangers specializes in the drunken fist fighting style.

Since this announcement is another glorious moment in history, it's time for us to awaken our inner chi as we check out Dairanger's opening below.
