Shu Takumi's next project is... Ace Attorney!

The king has returned.

A bunch of interesting news came out yesterday from the Nintendo Direct, but what I found most exciting was an announcement from Nintendo of Japan, stating what Shu Takumi's next game would be. Takumi is one of my favorite game designers, in no small part because he created the Ace Attorney series. He took a short break to make Ghost Trick and Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, leaving the series in capable hands at Capcom, but now he'll be returning to the world of Phoenix Wright again!

The message confirmed that Takumi's next game would indeed be an Ace Attorney game, but not if the presumed AA6 would be one and the same. It's also possible he's working on a spin-off while the main team tackles AA6, or vice versa. What was mentioned, however, was that his game would differ from previous games in the series, adding new twists on old gameplay.

I'm super excited about this, and I hope we get more details about it soon. Anyone else want to freak out over here with me?
