Simulcast GET: Crunchyroll grabs four new winter titles

Hozuki, Engaged, Witch Craft Works, and Strange+

It's 2014, and Crunchyroll is pulling out a new batch of announcements from the anime oven. Silly enough, none of the four shows that CR has picked up have nothing to do with food. However, Hozuki no Reitetsu, Engaged to the Unidentified, Witch Craft Works, and Strange+ share one similar trait, since they are all based off of comedic mangas.

Based on Crunchyroll's description of the series, Hozuki's story about the life of Enma's aide sounds like an intriguing anime to dive into. Hopefully, Hozuki's hobbies will amuse us when the first episode goes live. Then again, J-tor community member Robo Panda Z mentioned that the original manga was hilarious, which means that we'll be in for a fun ride!

Speaking of exciting goodies, Engage to the Unidentified (Formerly known as Unconfirmed & In-Progress) is being done by Dogakobo, who have been known for doing a phenomenal job with Love Lab's animation. If anything, there's a good chance the studio will the love story between amnesiac girl and her out-of-this-world fiance a huge hit.

Witch Craft Works seems to be focusing on your magical romance hi-jinks; however, I wouldn't be surprised if J.C. Staff astounds us with this one. While I'm not feeling anything with Strange+'s tale about a guy that finds out that his lost brother runs a detective agency, Tomokazu Seki's (Domon from G-Gundam, the Mobirate's voice from Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger) involvement with the show might heat up a few scenes.

If you're interested in learning more about CR's newest shows, you can check out News Editor Josh Tolentino's Winter 2014 Anime Preview Guide. While Crunchyroll already has a large roster of winter animes, something tell me that they're about to play their ultimate Trump Card before the week is over. Who knows, they might fulfill Features Editor Karen Mead's wish to see Wizard Barrister get picked up. That said, I will keep my fingers crossed as well.
