Snag El Hazard - The Magnificent World Blu-ray box set on July 30

Ahhh, delicious classic animation

I've been interested in El Hazard - The Magnificent World for some time, given its classic animation style and fantasy elements. I've just never been sure of which El Hazard I needed to start with or if I would like it, and I've never had the entire series in one place before to get into it. That's all about to be remedied, with NBC Universal Japan's Rondo Robe production company having announced a Blu-ray box set containing the entire series, releasing on July 30.

Originally set for a Christmas release, it was delayed until this July, but the wait should be worth it. The series is getting the deluxe treatment, with an HD remaster from a 35mm telecine. It contains the seven episodes that comprise the first El Hazard - The Magnificent World OVA in Japanese and English, and it will run you 18,000 yen ($176) for the whole thing.
