Square Enix finally sheds details on DQX 'Kids Time'

As details for Square Enix's upcoming Wii/WiiU MMORPG Dragon Quest X started pouring in, the developers revealed that the game would have a special 'Kids Time' that would allow users to play for free. This being the first Dragon Quest game to require a subscription fee and a constant online connection, it's a pretty big deal that SE is going to give players free time. The problem is that we had no clear idea of when this period would be or how long it was going to be. Fortunately, we now know.

From 4:00pm to 6:00pm on weekdays, Dragon Quest X will be free to play for all users. On the weekend, the 'Kids Time' goes into effect from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

This is actually a great block of time for elementary school kids, as they'll be getting home just as the period starts. For everyone else though, this is pretty much impossible to be around for, which leads me to wonder just how active the game will be during those times. I think the idea is cool and it might help SE move some units, but I can't help but think it's kind of a waste.

I'm not planning on picking this up, but is anyone out there excited for DQX?
