Start off your Spring Break with Viz's upcoming digital manga titles

March is about to get crazy

I may be more of a fan of reading things physically than digitally, but Viz's March digital manga roster contains some interesting titles, since they resurrected a few Tokyopop titles. On top of that, Tokyo Ghoul and Spell of Desire are joining the company's arsenal of downloadable goodies as well. In other words, March might be a good month for folks who read their stuff on their tablets and phones.

Interestingly, Tokyo Ghoul and Spell of Desire both fall into the supernatural genre, since one story involves the Ghoul society in Japan and the other has to do with a recently awakened witch that runs an herb shop. If anything, I guess that Viz chose to go with a special theme for their recent releases.

In regards to Viz's digital revivals, Girls Bravo, Ratman, Someday's Dreamer: Spellbound, and Calling You are making a comeback, which is good for those who missed out on their first run. In case you haven't heard of these titles, Girls Bravo's about a guy who ends up in a world that's filled women. Of course, the story's main character, Yukinari Sasaki is both scared and allergic to the ladies, which kind the latter condition kind of reminds me of the original Hanaukyo Maid Team anime series.

Ratman brings a neat spin on the superhero genre, as the pint-sized 15-year old Shuto Katsuragi gets tricked into partaking in an evil experiment that resulted in him receiving superhuman abilities. Afterwards, the guy decides to become an antihero, which might result in some interesting scenarios in his life. Since the manga also features heroes that are connected to corporations, I'm kind of getting a Tiger & Bunny vibe out of this title.

Next up we have Someday's Dreamer: Spellbound, which is set in the same universe as the original series; however, the story focuses on magic user Nami and the new high school student called Ryutaro. From the looks of it, it seems that we're in for a magic-themed romance series. Lastly, Calling You focuses on a series of stories, such as a girl that uses her imagination to make a cellphone, a guy with a new friend with healing powers, and a tale about a train accident.

As for the release dates for these new titles, Spell of Desire Vol. 1 came out yesterday for $6.99, Calling You gets a Mar. 10 release for $4.99, Tokyo Ghoul Vol. 1 hits the Web on Mar. 17 for $8.99, Girls Bravo enters the scene on Mar. 17 for only $4.99, and Ratman returns to fighting crime on Mar. 24 for the price of $4.99. Lastly, Someday's Dreamers: Spellbound Vol. 1 makes a comeback on Mar. 24, with the second volume arriving on Mar. 31. Both installments'll cost you $4.99, which isn't too bad.

In other news, Viz is selling a special manga bundle until Mar. 31, which might be a good deal for those who want to build up a digital collection. Anyway, here are the following offers that the company has released digitally:
