Switch On: Generation Kikaida to release Kikaider Reboot in North America

I'm dreaming of a Robotic Christmas

I don't know about you, but 2014 has been a good year for toku fans, since Zyuranger is heading to North America, and two Ultra shows are currently streaming on Crunchyroll, To top off things off, Generation Kikaida/JN Productions, Inc, a Hawaiian tokusatsu distributing group, has announced that they're releasing Kikaider Reboot on DVD in December with English subs.

In case you aren't familiar with Kikaider Reboot, the film is basically a new take on Shotaro Ishinomori's classic series about a robot with human emotions that battles the evil organization that created him. Compare to titular robot's design in the original toku show, manga, and anime, the new Kikaider sports a more realistic look than its predecessors. While I never got the chance to watch the movie, I did enjoy the anime's story, as it felt like a great fusion between Megaman and Pinocchio. That being said, I look forward to seeing how the Kikaider Reboot will tell this story, since the movie's trailer implied that its tone'll be similar to Kikaider: The Animation.

Once Kikaider Reboot hits shelves in December, the movie'll be available on Generation Kikaida's Website and a few select retailers, which means that it won't be too hard for you to turn your Christmas into a robot-themed celebration. On that note, are any of you looking forward to owning Kikaider Reboot soon?
