TGS 2014: Final Fantasy XIII trilogy coming to Steam

0

All hail the PC Master Race

I think it's safe to say that I'm in the minority when I say I actually liked the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy. They were flawed and the whole Fabula Nova Crystalis affair smacked of troubling hubris on the part of Square Enix, but they were enjoyable and engaging when you cast aside your preconceived notions of what "makes" a Final Fantasy game and other such twaddle. They were what they were, and nothing more, which was perhaps the problem.

But now a new crowd can decide just for themselves what the saga of Lightning means to them: The PC gaming crowd. Yes, Final Fantasy XIII, XIII-2, and Lightning Returns are all headed to Steam, and the first game is due quite soon (October 9th), and for quite cheap ($14.99). If Square Enix have gotten the hang of porting their Final Fantasy games to the platform properly, then we might have a winner on our hands.
