Nijigahara Holograph breaks into top 10 on debut week

Welcome to The Bestsellers List, where we highlight the bestselling music and movies in Japan, along with the best of the American manga sales each week.

The Japanese box office took a massive tanking this past weekend, dropping off by 47% compared to last week, but we can see the ranking held fairly stable. On the music side, I discovered Ring Toshite Sigure at #10, and am interested to hear more of them. While their latest single, "Contrast," isn't readily available, here's another song from the band.

On the manga side, we've got a wave of new titles, knocking out just about all the multi-week rankings. While most of the list is made up of titles you'd expect, I was pleasantly surprised to see Nijagahara Holograph make it into the top 10. Fantagraphics, being a smaller publisher, doesn't see a ton of titles in the list. It's well worth checking out.

Let's take a look at the top titles from each list:

Oricon's Top Three Songs

1. Hikari no Signal by Kis-my-Ft2
2. Love Take It All by C-ute
3. Love Story by Exile Takahiro

New York Times' Top Three Manga

1. One Piece Vol. 70
2. Blue Exorcist Vol. 11
3. Pokemon Adventures Vol. 21

Japan's Top Three Box Office Films

2. The Mole Song: Undercover Agent Reiji
3. The Eternal Zero
