Frozen dominates Japanese box office

Welcome to The Bestsellers List, where we highlight the bestselling music and movies in Japan, along with the best of the American manga sales each week.

Japan loves Disney. Everyone loves Frozen. So it's only natural that Japan love Frozen just as much as everyone else. The film debuted like gangbuster, raking in over $7.5 million, which is blockbuster status in Japan. Expect that to reign over the charts for the next few months. Other kid-friendly films topped this week's box office numbers, presumably because people had a hard time getting in to see Frozen.

On the music side, people are rolling out cherry blossom-themed songs because, well, it's that time of year. It's amazing how the Japanese music industry churns out these one-hit wonder songs, they sell like hotcakes, and then everyone moves on.

Gotta love it. Let's take a look at the top titles from each list:
