The Dose: Old School Thursdays

Time to get emotional

Well guys, I'm back from a fabulous vacation and ready to delve back into the depths of Japan's old school favorites. This week we're heading back to 2003, to one of my favorite J-Pop tunes of all time. I'm sure you've all been fiending for your Dose, so you better believe this song delivers. I just got my Vita copy of Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remasters, so I'm sure it's no surprise what song is stuck in my head right now.

Final Fantasy X is perhaps my favorite game in the legendary Square Enix series. Yes, I go back and forth between X & VII, but when I really think about it, I have to say I cried way more times during the PS2 masterpiece. When I heard the storyline was going to be continued in Final Fantasy X-2, I was ecstatic. The mere thought of returning to Zanarkand had me going wild with anticipation. Unfortunately, while not bad, the game just didn't do it for me. However, it did deliver one heck of a video game into.

Kyoto's own Koda Kumi's Real Emotion opened the game with ridiculous animation, and blistering pace, becoming an instant classic. The high energy song was actually Miss Kumi's first track to break the top 10. In fact, the J-Pop princess was planning to retire if the song did not do well. We're glad that the combination worked so well for her, as she went on to become one of Japan's top recording artists and fashion icons.
