The Gundam TriAge card game is coming soon to the 3DS

My Char is ready

Back when I visited Tokyo in 2011, there was an interesting new arcade game that seemed to be pretty popular. That was Gundam TriAge, and after watching Japanese people play it in an attempt to figure out what to, I sunk my first 100 yen coin into the machine. It overtook the now defunct Pokémon Battrio as my go-to arcade game with collectibles, and my dream team of Amuro, Char and some some other guy made steady progress through the campaign. I had the optional card to save my data on and everything.

But that was then, so it's pretty cool to see that TriAge is still going strong. So strong, in fact, that Bandai Namco will be bringing a portable adaptation to the 3DS on July 17th. The game is still in development, but it seems that it'll keep the same format as the arcade game that has you picking three mobile suits and three pilots to take into battle.

It's not going to happen, but I'd love if this game with a device like the Pokémon Tretta disc-reader, to allow you to make use of the cards you already have. The e-Reader was a huge success, right?
