The Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer Creator's new anime looks bonkers

Hammers make everything better

At this point, we may have to give up on the idea of there being an anime adaptation of Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer by Gainax with music by The Pillows. The reason for this combo is that the manga referenced a ton of the studios' works, along with giving off a similar vibe to their style. I guess the closest possibility would be one by Studio Trigger, which sounds like a better dream.

On the bright side, a new trailer for Planet With surfaced, which is adapted from Satoshi Mizukami's (Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer’s Creator) storyboards. So far, its hook is that the main cast is fighting the heroes who protected the area from beings called Nebula Weapons. That said, I'm interested in learning the reason behind this fight.

Aside from the premise, it's cool how the show's giant robot resembles a Kamen Rider, along with featuring a group of characters with superpowers. At the moment, it makes me think of Giant Robo: The Animation - The Day the Earth Stood Still since it contained this aspect.

Youhei Suzuki (Sword Oratoria and Shimoneta's Director) is directing the anime, with J.C. Staff (Food Wars! and A Certain Magical Index's Animation Production) handling the animation. Since I had a blast with Shimoneta, he may be able to compliment Mizukami's ridiculous ideas. Even though the trailer focuses on the cast and two brief action scenes, my excitement came from my time with Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer.

I guess we'll have to see how Planet With will turn out when it starts on July 8. Seeing that Seven Seas released Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer in North America, this gives people enough time to familiarize themselves with the original creator's style. Let's just say that part of the plot pokes fun at one of Evangelion's main premises.
