The Underworld is saved: Trillion: God of Destruction goes West

Disgaea: Compile Heart Edition

I don't know about you, but when I first heard about Compile Heart's newest strategy RPG, Trillion: God of Destruction, I almost confused it as a title that was a spin-off of Makai Kingdom or the Disgaea gamesI guess this is what happens when you have Masahiro Yamamoto (Disgaea 4 and  Z.H.P.'s Director) and Tenpei Sato (the Disgaea series and Soul Nomad's Music) as a part of its development team. That said, Trillion's premise about the Underworld's overlord fighting against Trillion the God of Destruction gives off a nice vibe to NIS' staple series-- especially the part about him being resurrected in a different form.

Aside from training your units for the big showdown, there's also a segment where you get to choose between six Overlords to date. Since the romance elements might play a big role in taking down Trillion, this aspect sets it apart from the Disgaea series and Makai Kingdom. That and the idea of the whole game revolving around widdling down Trillion's health to zero makes it different as well.

Anyway, thanks to Idea Factory International's hard work, Trillion hits North America and Europe in Spring 2016 for the PS Vita. One thing for sure, I'm curious to see how Yamamoto will utilize his experience with Disgaea in this title. In the meantime, you can check out the game's screenshots in the gallery below.

Then again, Masahiro Yamamoto (Disgaea 4's Director) and Tenpei Sato (Disgaea's Composer) are part of Trillion's team, which explains the similarities to Nippon Ichi's staple series.
