There is, in fact, a 3rd episode of Code Geass: Akito the Exiled

He really was exiled

Wow, and here I thought Code Geass had just about departed from living memory, when Bandai releases a trailer to remind us that no, we're not done yet. Or rather, that we'll finally be done soon, since the trailer reveals the release date for the third episode of the long-delayed Akito the Exiled OVA. The second episode was released more than a year ago, then Sunrise announced early in 2014 that the third and fourth episodes would be delayed "until further notice".

That notice is here, and the latter half of the four-episode series will be hitting with comparative haste. Episode 3 is due on May 2nd, with episode 4 scheduled for a July street date. And thank goodness for that, because as one of the dwindling number of people who cared about what was happening in the saga of Code Geass' Europeans and their exiled Japanese friends, we were just getting to the good part. Lelouch sporting a fancy eyepatch and the name of "Julius Kingsley" had just about entered the story, and more was to be revealed about the nature of Akito's Geass and his connection to the larger plot.

Maybe we can finally get to the payoff, hopefully. Check out an earlier trailer for episode 3 below!
