Think you're a Yakuza 4 fan? Look at this guy.

This 46-year-old Australian man is such a huge fan of Yakuza 4 that he has spent $9,000 to get a full back tattoo that is identical to the one Kazuma has. Kazuma is the main character of the game and a Yakuza badass. While I admit that the tattoo itself is a pretty awesome design, I'm not sure I'd want a tattoo that would associate myself with a gang member, even a fictional one.

Still, I can't believe this guy dropped $9,000 on this tattoo. I know it gets expensive, but wow. That could be a new used car! Several months of rent! A new entertainment system! A really, really nice vacation or cruise! Now don't get me wrong, I completely appreciate the artistic sentiment of wanting something permanently on your body. I have a tattoo as well, but it's small and on my ankle was $40. NOT THOUSANDS. Plus, I mean, there's no hiding this thing unless you're wearing a full shirt. Tank top? Nope. Going to the beach? Yep, everyone's going to see. It's quite a commitment.

I've seen lots of gamers get game-themed tattoos. Part of me admires them, part of me questions it. Will you always want to be associated with a video game? Then again, I'm currently considering a small Rebel Alliance tattoo of Star Wars fame, so I guess I shouldn't talk.

What do you think? Is this guy crazy cool or just plain crazy?

[UPDATE: Okay, okay, so yes, my source ended up being incorrect. Sadly I guess I can't have faith that other sources are ever correct. SEGA paid for this tattoo, not the guy himself. Still, my opinion stands. 9K is ridiculous to be dropped on a tattoo, even by a company. And I still question this guy forever wanting to be associated with this game series by having a huge tattoo across his back.]
