Third Madoka film tops Japanese box office

Madoka Magica: The Rebellion Story rakes in the dough.

The third and final Madoka film hit theaters this past weekend and surprise, surprise, it did very well! It looks like tons of fans lined up to catch Madoka Magica: The Rebellion Story in theaters, giving it a healthy opening of 436 million yen (about $4.5 million USD) and the biggest opening all weekend. This puts it up higher on the scale of anime movie openings, and is a much better debut than the previous two!

Not too shabby! What an impressive box office pull for the film. It seems the Madoka Magica franchise has really grown, and I'm glad it found success. I know they've been teasing that there could be more on the way, and maybe this third film opens that door up, but I think I've had enough. A TV anime and three movies is good enough for me. But maybe you guys want more! Would you want to see another Madoka series or more films?
