This anime-inspired Star Wars fan video will convert you to the Dark Side

May the Anime Force be with you

I might get attacked for saying this, but I'm not a huge fan of the Star Wars series. While I enjoyed the original trilogy, Genndy Tartakovsky's amazing Clone Wars miniseries, and a few of the brand's games, my views towards the franchise isn't on the same level as the things that I'm passionate about.

Speaking of which, Paul Johnson/the other OtaKing (the Doctor Who anime short) has completed his animated Star Wars short, which gives off an '80s sci-fi anime film or OVA vibe. Instead of being about the Jedi Knights and/or the Rebels, TIE Fighter focuses on the battles through Empire's perspective. The end result gave us a nice piece that features a great amount of detail that emulates the coloring found in many classic titles.

If there was one issue with TIE Fighter, it's that most of the human animations felt weird at times. Nonetheless, Johnson's work is still impressive, since he animated the entire thing by himself. Seeing that it took him four years to complete this project, you have to give the guy some mad props for his dedication to this piece.

Since the guy has improved from his last animated project, I look forward to seeing how he'll evolve during his next solo piece.
