This Japanese cat-shaped water cake sounds like a purrfect dessert

It's refreshingly ameowzing

I've always been a sucker for foods that are shaped like other things since their creators took the time to create an edible artistic piece. One of these impressive treats is Mithiruka's water cake that's shaped like a cat.

Mithiruka used water and agar to create the feline-shaped delicacy. The recipe that the person used was from the Japanese Cooking Website Cookpad. All in all, it's impressive that Mithiruka was able to give the water cake enough depth to capture a cat that's curled up. Since he/she used a mold, it's nice that the one used made it looks like a cute glass sculpture. Despite the cake resembling jello, something tells me that the former is better at having a smoother and more detailed shape.

While a water cake might likely have a bland taste, Mithiruka ate it with some kinako (roasted soybean powder) and brown sugar syrup. Based on that combination, I could see it leading to an interesting texture. If this person continues to create more food sculptures, it'll be neat to see what he/she will make next.
