Trillion: God of Destruction makes for a game-long final boss fight

Talk about a tough cookie

About the worst insult one can usually level at an RPG final boss fight is that the boss is nothing more than a "brick" of hit points, a big ol' thing whose primary attribute is having a huge health bar. Such a boss isn't interesting to fight, only tedious, as the party just hammers it into submission. Compile Heart might be onto something, though, by building an entire game around the idea of whittling down a single big ol' brick of HP.

The brick is the titular Trillion, a massive boss threatening to consume the Underworld with his trillion hit points. Yes, that's a trillion HP, as in a thousand billion, which might make for the healthiest enemy this side of that one Steam sale minigame. Enter the player character, a local overlord fallen in battle against Trillion and resurrected to save the land. The party will then go through side battles, powering up, doing quests and targeting potential weak points in Trillion's defenses, all in the hopes of eventually taking it down.

Sounds like an intriguing premise. The rest will depend on whether Compile Heart can do it justice.
