Uh-oh: Beckii Cruel will be at Hyper Japan

Well, there you have it! That one Youtube dancer-come-idol from the Isle of Man will be doing what she does best at Hyper Japan on February 26th. She'll only be appearing for the Sunday, so be sure to factor that nugget of information into your plans. There will also be a small offering of Japanese guests, including singer Natsuko Aso (Friday and Saturday), actress Eri Fuse and Olympic gold medallist in women's judo Maki Tsukada.

Hyper Japan is a relatively new event here in the UK, which focuses a lot more on Japanese culture, rather than having anime and manga being the sole feature of the event. This will be the third time that the event has run, with seemingly another event planned for later this year. I did manage to go to the first Hyper Japan in 2010, but understandably it was still finding it's footing. I don't doubt that the event will certainly be a fun excursion if nothing else! Tickets are £12, or £14 if you turn up on the day.

Still, I do find it odd that Beckii Cruel is only appearing on the Sunday. With Natsuko Aso appearing on the other two days and not on the Sunday, I can imagine that those of us that would only appear for one day out of the three would show up to see her instead. Last time I went, it wasn't really an event like the MCM Expo in which you could burn an entire weekend there. So then, any of you UK folk going, and will you be saying hello to Beckii while you are there?

While I remember, those of you that are going should check this out. You may as well enter the draw to see L'Arc-En-Ciel, especially when tickets to that gig are a frightening £50 each!
