Valkyrie Drive gets weaponized for the West

0

Let's get physical!

Now this is a bit of a surprise: It turns out that PQube is bringing over Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni, the 3D brawler game by Senran Kagura Series Producer Kenichiro Takaki where girls turn other girls into weapons through intimate moments, to North America and Europe this year for the Vita as a physical and digital release.

Mind you, my surprised reaction isn't about the game coming over to the West; it's that I was expecting XSEED Games to be the ones to handle this release. My guess is that they still have a ton of stuff on their plate to finish localizing, such as Trails in the Sky the 3rd and Touhou: Scarlet Curiosity. If anything, this move allows for more of Marvelous' titles to head West, which is always a good thing.

From the looks of it, Valkyrie Drive's gameplay shares similar elements with the Senran Kagura Versus titles, which I hear are pretty fun. Of course, the ability to destroy your opponents clothes is present in this title as well.

Since the game features ladies that can wield other girls as weapons, I'm getting a bit of a Soul Eater and Erementar Gerad vibe from this idea. As a person who's been fond of this concept, it'll be interesting to see how Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni will handle it with its yuri elements.

Is anyone looking forward to playing Valkyrie Drive this year?
