Vertical announces a lot of manga licenses at Katsucon

Read Arakawa manga while under a bridge

Last weekend at Katsucon, North American publisher Vertical announced a few interesting licenses for you to enjoy in the physical format. Why am emphasizing the "physical" aspect? One of the first few licenses they announced is an omnibus of the outrageous comedy Arakawa Under the Bridge, which was digitally published by Crunchyroll on its digital manga platform where it is currently available.

Vertical also announced the manga adaptation of the Monogatari author NisiOisin's 2011 novel Imperfect Shoujo adapted by Sankarea author Mitsuru Hattori. The manga adaptation of Voices of a Distant Star is given life again by Vertical, formerly published in 2006 by the now defunct publisher TokyoPop. Last but not the least is the novel Anime Supremacy (Haken Anime!) featuring illustrations by CLAMP.

These announcements were preceded with other items from Vertical which include: Gundam Wing manga retelling (from the same author of the TV series), Helvetica Standard manga from the Nichijoui author (yay!), and She and her cat which is another manga adaptation of Makoto Shinkai's works (which recently had an anime adaptation).

A monthly manga industry focused podcast by Vertical's Marketing director Ed Chavez was also announced coming soon. These are some nice sounding announcements, I'm pleased to hear about Helvetica Standard and manga adaptation's of Makoto Shinkai's work are coming over to make me laugh and cry while I read them in public.
