Vertical licenses Tonari no Seki-kun manga

The upright publisher nabs comedy manga for fall 2014.

Once again proving themselves to be a shrewd company, Vertical Publishing has licensed Tonari no Seki-kun, by manga author Takuma Morishige, and will release it under the title My Neighbor Seki this fall. Vertical's Ed Chavez revealed this info on ANN's aptly-named ANNCast earlier today. He mentioned that originally they intended to only release a collection of selected bits from the five-volume series, but renewed popularity for it convinced them to release the entire manga.

My Neighbor Seki tells the tale of a girl named Yokoi who is seated next to Seki in school. Seki is legendary in his ability to not pay attention to class, and creates a variety of distractions, adventures, and projects to entertain himself. Chavez also hinted that they may look into picking up other projects by Morishige or his family members (his older sister is Akiko Higashimura, the creator of Kuragehime and Omo ni Naitemasu).
