Visual novel CLANNAD is getting a Steam release in English

Sekai Project takes the first big step with Visual Arts/Key

During their panel at Japan Expo USA, Sekai Project announced that they are releasing Key/Visual Arts's CLANNAD visual novel on Steam. It will be the full-voiced edition of the game. However there aren't much more details beyond that, as to when or how else the game will be released. A kickstarter may be planned for it as well.

The heart-wrenching visual novel is a landmark all-ages only release that spawned an equally tear-inducing anime by Kyoto Animation back in 2007. During the Q&A there were some indication that the now somewhat-dated visuals may get a HD update, but it's probably best to wait for confirmation from Sekai Project after the localization upstart return from their JX stint.
