Watch the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya in...Hawaii?

Hawaii, a non-continental state and my birthplace, is oft-ignored, I've found. Hawaiians have to pay extra to get stuff mailed to them, they aren't eligible for most contests, and what do they get in exchange? An endless flood of tourists to clog up their beautiful beaches, and vacation home purchases by the cast of Lost.

Come October 29th, though, things are gonna change, because Bandai have just announced that The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya movie will be screened with English subtitles in Honolulu, as part of the "Spotlight Asia!" series. For more details about the movie and how you can get in, check out the Consolidated Theaters website.

Good on you, fellow Hawaiians! And for you filthy continentals, just think of it the movie's next step in its journey across the pond.
