Weekend Japanatainment - Disney Channel Japan Edition

Best anime openings

Hey, this is something new you probably haven't seen before on the internet in the last two years and we're totally not beating a dead horse meme. Yes, Cory White House de Chou Taihen! is on here but that brilliant anime milestone is not alone and brought some of his Japanese version tomodachi over for some American burgers.

Cory White House de Chou Taihen! is one of those live-action shows from the Disney Channel that are usually just children's sitcoms that are pretty innocent and saccharine most of the time which would be perfect to export to other countries. Japan is one of those countries and some of the shows got some Japanese versions for their openings (Sorry, no Hannah Montana Japanese OP) and the results are very interesting. Some of the songs actually sound good being that Ska being sung in Japanese is much more fun than in English.

So for those that are actually reading these words and didn't skip over to just watching the videos, just head on over below and start watching these curiosities. ENJOY!

Phineas and Ferb

The only animated entry on here, this opening sounds pretty faithful with the tone and sounds much better.

Wizards of Waverly Place

This is that show that was "inspired by Harry Potter" that starred Selena Gomez way before she got famous for stuff like music (Sorry, there's only one Selena and it's not Selena Gomez). This opening song is like the English but in my very limited knowledge of Japanese pop music, I don't think I've heard of a Japanese song doing this style.

Suite Life of Zack and Cody

I really happen to really like Japanese Ska and this song is already much better than the original. Hooch is crazy.

Suite Life on Deck

This is my favorite out of all these songs and I would totally jam to this one.

Cory in the House

The Legend. So Epic. Lit. Roasted. Fidget spinner. Dab. Whatever the kids say these days as an adjective for 'cool'.

"Call Me, Beep Me" - Beni Arashiro (Kim Possible OP Song Japanese Version)

They really promoted the Japanese version of this song covered by Japanese R&B singer Beni Arashiro, who was really popular at the time this came out in 2005. I am just now faintly recollecting that this music video was shown in the US and the wikipedia article supports it. A good cover for a very uneventful and very CG green screen video that was a bit out of date at the time it came out.

Kim Possible

The same song above by Beni Arashiro but in the opening animation itself.
